History of Payment Processing in Sportsman
Over the years, Sportsman has devoted a considerable amount of time and effort to developing numerous solutions for you to collect payments for all of your programs, activities, leagues, events, and more.
As technology has developed, we have continued seeking the best options for all our customers to reliably and consistently serve their patrons. The problem here is for several years, most of the payment processors we originally built an integration with, didn't upgrade their APIs, hardware, or supported functionality and we were forced to split our focus trying to maintain all of these solutions.
Instead of continuing to wait for these processors to upgrade their products, we at Sportsman decided to hunt down a single payment processor that we trusted to provide the best package of services, reliability, and ease of use to all of our customers.
Here's why:
Managing integrations for several independent processors that have old and outdated equipment and software is frustrating, time-consuming, and expensive.
This means we can keep your licensing costs low and we have the bandwidth to support you and develop improvements to other aspects of our software.
Originally, we wanted to meet you where you were and build integrations with the equipment that you were already using. After much consideration, it became clear that to give you the best experience possible, we needed to change our approach.
Instead of splitting our efforts to build several integrations with different payment processors, we chose to combine our efforts and develop a single solution that checks as many boxes for our customers as possible. This includes:
New functionality, such as Apple Pay and Tap to Pay, and the ability to process refunds and voids directly in Sportsman, and more.
Better encryption and data security.
New, improved (wireless, WiFi, and cellular) devices that can connect to Sportsman anywhere.
